MLTR live in K-town on Nov 19



This October, Kathmandu air is abuzz with words of the Danish soft-rock band Michael Learns to Rock (MLTR) and their live concert to be held at the Tudhikhel Staduim, on November 19.

An event organized by ODC Network and their India-based partner Engage, the MLTR concert will be the second one by an international artist to be performed in Kathmandu.



The first being the very popular Byan Adams Concert that took place during February 2011.

ODC Network is also proud to support Nepal Cancer Society by donating certain percent of their profits from the concerts.

“MLTR has a huge fan following in Asia,” says Saminta Gurung, executive director at ODC Network. “We’re expecting 35 to 40 thousand people this time around,” he informs and assures us of better sound systems, lights and pyrotechnics.



More LED screens will be installed to provide a better view for the Silver and Gold seating as well.


Two Nepali bands which are yet to be determined will be performing along with various DJs Gurung opines.

ODC Network has also started a new project entitled, “NepalRocks” that hopes to bring two western artists to Nepal, every year.

Also involved in other activities such as IP TV implementation and movie production, ODC Network intends to get Shakira and Aerosmith to play in Kathmandu next year.

In an attempt to provide a sound listening experience, ODC Network imports all of its surround systems and technicians from India.

“The musicians have a list of systems that they use, and we try to meet their demands,” says Gurung.

“We have more experience so we’re planning bigger this time around. Ticket stands have been put up in Morang and Jhapa as well and we have received positive response from these places,” says Gurung. The MLTR concerts sure looks like it’s going to be a blast with fans from outside Kathmandu flocking to the capital.

Tickets vary in price according to the seating arrangements where, Silver goes for Rs 1500, Gold for Rs 2500, Platinum for Rs 4000 and VVIP Seats for Rs 10,000 each.

Tickets are available for online booking at eSewa and at all eSewa outlets, Bhat Bhatini Supermarkets, City Center Mall, New Orleans Restaurants, Adidas Store and the Sherpa Mall.
